Mid-Atlantic
We define the Mid-Atlantic region as consisting of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, DC and Virginia. Much of this are we call American Heritage region as it includes so many of the historic sights of our founding years as a nation and the museums and Memorials of Washington DC that house so much of that history. Revolutionary War history from Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to Yorktown, VA and 7 of the 8 US National Capital Cities before finally settling on DC permanently - Philadelphia, Baltimore, Lancaster, York, Princeton, Annapolis, Trenton and Washington DC. The homes of several of our founding fathers including Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe.
Civil War history is told in great detail from Richmond and Manassas in Virginia to Antietam in Maryland and Gettysburg in Pennsylvania.
Colonial times are relived at Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown and even to the original lost colony of Roanoke, VA
But it is not just war that defines our history and there is so much more to do throughout the Mid Atlantic region.
